Screen Studio for Windows: Is There One, and What to Use

Klevo · · 6 min read

There is no Screen Studio for Windows: Screen Studio runs only on macOS, and its FAQ says there are no near-future plans for a Windows version (checked October 2026). To get the same look on a Windows PC (a smooth cursor, zooms on the clicks, a clean frame), you have two routes: a Windows recorder that adds auto zoom after you record, or a tool that adds the polish for you, either by clicking through your web app itself or by turning a plain screen recording into a polished demo. Klevo does both, and nothing is installed on your PC.

Does Screen Studio work on Windows?

Screen Studio does not run on Windows. Its site says it supports only macOS and recommends macOS Ventura 13.1 or higher (checked October 2026). There is no Windows installer, no web version and no announced date. Running it through a Mac in the cloud is possible in theory, but recording a demo over a remote desktop adds lag to the very cursor you wanted to look smooth.

So the useful question is not where to download Screen Studio for Windows, but which part of it you want: the polish, or the recording.

What makes a Screen Studio video look the way it does?

Four things, and each can be had on Windows:

  1. A smooth cursor instead of the jumpy system pointer.
  2. Zooms that follow the clicks, so the viewer sees the button that matters.
  3. A frame and a background around the screen, such as a browser window or a phone.
  4. Exports per channel: wide for a landing page, vertical for a story, square for a feed.

What Screen Studio does not remove is the take itself: you still rehearse, click through the flow live and cut the mistakes.

What can you use on Windows instead?

Route How it works Good for
A Windows recorder with auto zoom You record and click; the tool adds zooms and a smoother cursor afterwards Demos with your webcam or your live voice, or several apps at once
A browser extension recorder You record a tab in Chrome or Edge; zooms are added where you click Quick web demos you are happy to perform yourself (Cursorful compared)
Klevo, live You describe the flow in a chat; the AI clicks through your web app in a browser on Klevo’s servers Web app demos you want to render again after each release
Klevo, from a recording You record with any Windows recorder and upload the file; Klevo renders the key moments with the polish Desktop apps, private networks, flows behind two-factor

If your demo is really you talking over your screen, the first route is the closest match to Screen Studio. If it is a product demo of an app, the last two remove the take.

How does Klevo make a polished demo on Windows?

For a web app reachable at a public URL (staging is fine, localhost is not):

  1. Create a free account and connect Klevo to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code (setup guide).
  2. Describe the flow: the URL, what to click and type, the format.
  3. The AI opens your app in a browser on Klevo’s servers, takes one step at a time and checks a screenshot after each, so a missed click is retried before it reaches the video.
  4. Klevo renders an MP4 with a smooth cursor, zoom on the clicks you mark, one caption per step and a browser or phone frame.

The steps are saved as a script, so after the next release you render the same demo again instead of recording it.

For a desktop app, record the flow once with the recorder you already have on Windows and upload the file. The AI looks at contact sheets of the recording, picks the moments that tell the flow and where each click lands, and Klevo renders them as prints with the same cursor, zooms and captions. The free plan takes files up to 500 MB and 10 minutes long. AI screen recording explains both ways.

How does it compare with Screen Studio?

Screen Studio Klevo
Runs on macOS only Klevo’s servers, used from Windows, Linux or a Mac
Who clicks You, in a rehearsed take The AI from your description, or you in a plain recording
Smooth cursor and zooms Yes Yes
Captions Generated from what you say One per step, written for the viewer
Webcam Yes No
After a UI change Record again Render the saved script again
Formats Wide, square or vertical 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5 from the same script

Be clear about the trade. Klevo has no webcam and no live voice (narration is an optional AI voice), the look comes from presets with your font and brand color rather than a frame-by-frame editor, and output tops out at 1080p. What does it cost?

What is the next step?

Pick one flow you would have recorded in Screen Studio, such as creating a project or finishing onboarding. Start a free account (no card), connect Klevo to the AI you use, and ask for that flow in 16:9 with a browser frame. You get the MP4 in the same chat on your Windows PC, and the 9:16 version is one more sentence.

FAQ

Is Screen Studio coming to Windows?

Its FAQ says there are no near-future plans to add Windows support (checked October 2026).

Do I need to install anything on Windows to use Klevo?

No. The browser and the renderer run on Klevo’s servers; you use them from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code.

Can Klevo polish a recording I made on Windows?

Yes. Upload the recording, and the AI picks the moments Klevo renders as prints with a smooth cursor, clicks, zooms and captions. Klevo uses prints of the recording, not clips of it.

Does it work on Linux too?

Yes, for the same reason: nothing runs on your machine.
