AI Screen Recording: Let the AI Click, You Get the MP4
AI screen recording usually means one of two things. Most tools record your screen while you click and then use AI afterwards: auto zooms, a smoother cursor, transcripts, removed filler words. The other kind lets the AI do the clicking. With Klevo, you describe a flow to Claude or ChatGPT, the AI operates your web app in a browser on Klevo’s servers, and Klevo turns the steps into an MP4 with a smooth cursor, zooms and one caption per step. The first kind polishes your take. The second removes the take.
What do most AI screen recorders actually do?
They keep you as the operator and add AI to the edit. Typical features:
- automatic zoom where you click;
- a cursor redrawn smoother than your real one;
- a transcript or captions from your voice;
- trimming silences and filler words.
That is a real improvement over a raw recording, and it is the right choice when the video is you explaining something. Loom, Screen Studio and Cursorful sit in this group; if you are comparing them, see Loom alternative for product demos, Screen Studio alternative and Cursorful alternative.
What changes when the AI drives the app?
The recording stops being a performance. You do not rehearse, you do not redo a take after a wrong click, and you do not trim loading pauses. Here is how it works with Klevo:
- Connect Klevo once to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code (setup guide).
- Describe the flow: “On https://staging.myapp.com, create a project called Q4 launch and invite Ana. 16:9, browser frame.”
- The AI explores. It reads a screenshot and an element snapshot, takes one action, and checks the result. A missed click is retried here, in the session, and never reaches the video.
- Klevo records the clean run. The saved steps replay in a fresh browser, and the compositor draws the cursor along an eased path, zooms on the steps you marked and adds the captions.
- You get the MP4 in the chat, plus the script, so the same demo renders again in 9:16 or after the next release.
Klevo runs no AI model itself. The AI you already pay for decides every click and writes every caption; Klevo is the browser and the renderer. Under the hood details: Claude MCP demo video.
Which kind of AI screen recording should you use?
| AI-polished recorder | AI-driven recording (Klevo) | |
|---|---|---|
| Who clicks | You | The AI |
| Your face and voice | Yes, usually | No webcam; optional AI narration |
| Mistakes | Trimmed after | Retried before the render |
| What it records | Your screen, any app | A browser on Klevo’s servers; your screen recordings by upload |
| After a UI change | Record again | Render the saved steps again |
| Captions | From your speech | Written per step for the viewer |
| Best for | Async messages, tutorials with a person | Product demos, launch clips, help center videos |
If the video is about you, use a recorder. If it is about the product, and you will need it again next month, let the AI drive.
What do you need for the AI to record your app?
- A public URL. Production or staging; localhost and private networks are refused.
- A way in, if there is a login: a test account saved as a secret, so no password is typed in the chat (record a demo of an app behind a login).
- Clean demo data, because the AI records what the page shows (demo videos without real customer data).
- A short flow. 5 to 15 steps reads best (how long should a demo video be).
For a desktop app, record your screen once and upload it: the AI picks prints from it and Klevo adds the cursor, zooms and captions.
What does it cost?

What is the next step?
Create a free account, connect Klevo to the AI you use, and ask it to record the flow you explain most often on calls. Compare the MP4 with your last screen recording of the same thing.
FAQ
Does Klevo record my screen?
No. It records a browser it runs on its servers. Nothing is installed on your computer.
Which AI does the clicking?
Yours: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code, whichever you connect.
What happens when a step fails?
You get the failed step, a screenshot and the browser console, which often points to a real bug: a failed demo step is a bug report.
