Can Claude Make Videos? Yes, of Your App, Through MCP
Claude does not generate video on its own: there is no “make a video” button that paints frames from a prompt. What Claude can do is use tools. Connect an MCP server that records video, and Claude makes the video by operating the tool. Why can’t Claude make a video by itself?
Claude works in text and code. A video is thousands of frames plus an encoder, and that work happens outside the model. So when people ask about Claude video generation, they usually mean one of three things:
- Generated footage (a scene from a prompt): that needs a video generation model, which Claude does not include. Some tools let Claude call one.
- Video from code: Claude can write code that renders animation, but you run and debug it yourself.
- A video of something real, such as your app working: that needs a browser that records and a renderer. This is what an MCP connector can give Claude.
If you want the third one, the honest answer to “can Claude make videos” is yes, as soon as it has the right tool.
How does Claude record a video of your app?
- Connect the tool once. Add Klevo as a custom connector in Claude.ai, the Claude apps or Claude Code (setup guide).
- Describe the flow. “Record a demo of creating a project on https://staging.myapp.com: click New project, name it Q4 launch, save it. 16:9, browser frame.”
- Claude drives the browser. It calls one action per step (a click, a typed field, a scroll), looks at the screenshot after each one and retries a step that failed, so mistakes stay out of the video.
- Klevo renders. When the flow is done, the saved steps are replayed in a fresh browser and composed into an MP4 with the cursor, the zooms, one caption per step and intro and outro cards.

What can’t Claude do with Klevo?
Be clear about the limits before you try it:
- It records web pages at a public URL. Staging works; localhost does not. For a desktop app or a private network, upload a screen recording instead and Claude picks the moments to show.
- There is no webcam and no live voice. If the video is you talking, use a screen recorder.
- It is not a timeline editor. The look comes from presets (smooth, snappy or minimal), your font and your brand color.
- Klevo runs no AI of its own. Claude decides every click; Klevo only records and renders what Claude did.

Can Claude generate video from a text prompt?
